There were two more, but I found them too advanced for my skill level. For the categories with an asterisk (*), I made multiple but chose to post the best-looking one in the series.
In terms of the guidelines, it was a mix between making a poster of whatever the prompts ask for that day or finding a quote based on said item and creating an idea from that. An example of this is Hat.
I would say some of the pieces that got the most positive feedback were Let It Go (Snow), Keys, Ghost, Christian but the Artist Went Ham on the Saturation (Mushroom), and Butterfly.
What I enjoyed the most about this challenge—as cliché as it sounds—was not holding back in testing limits on what I was able to come up with. I also had a fun time importing new fonts and brushes from other Procreate artists.
One thing I had a hard time with was making sure I wasn’t completely stealing other creators’ ideas and coming up with ways to put my own spin on them.
Another thing I found difficult was pacing myself so I could actually enjoy the challenge. It was tempting for me to try to get multiple categories for drawings done in multiple days; I knew that if I made that a habit throughout the thirty days that I would end up being too ahead.
I would say my personal favorite piece in this challenge is Coffee; I'm usually terrible at drawing buildings and making it look as accurate as possible–in terms of proportion. However, I made a rough sketch and wove the accuracy together from there, so I was happy with how it turned out. The little splashes of red sort of wake up this gloomy wintery setting.
This challenge has been an excellent way for me to get back into the digital art game after experiencing artists block for a while.
